DIY Experiment

For the DIY Project, you may perform an experiment of your choice on the topic of your choice (biology, chemistry, physics, geology, psychology, etc.).

There are a few general rules that every DIY Experiment must meet.

  • Safety: Are there dangerous chemicals involved? Fire? Acid? Sharp objects? If so, what will you do to ensure that the experiment is safe?
  • Cost: The cost should be zero dollars. We have an extensive supply of chemicals, physics sensors and tools, arts and crafts supplies, and other stuff, so please see the teacher if you are looking for a particular supply.
  • Feasibility: Is there a reasonable chance your experiment will work?
  • Uncertainty: You should be genuinely uncertain about whether or not your hypothesis is correct. You cannot just copy an experiment you have seen elsewhere - you need to extend the hypothesis into an unknown area.
